My Wife Wasn't Home When I Wrote by Reese Turner
Light and Sweet writing prompt entry

You know I love my two dogs
They’re pure love, no question.
But, you are the one I want
For true love and affection.

Honey, I don’t like lite beer
But, I surely do love you.
Even the heavy brews I drink
Can’t fill me like you do.

Let’s talk cookin’, you’re tops!
I’d rather eat your fried baloney,
Knowing the dessert you’ll serve
Is you, my sweet one and only!

So, just come hug your old man -
Some might say I’m just all gas
But, I’m a natural for you, baby,
My pretty gal with style and class
!

Writing Prompt
Write a romance poem in any style. The theme is light and sweet. Minimum 8 lines. Maximum 16 lines.

Author Notes
So, here is truth is 16 lines. 46 years of marriage gives me truths few men admit.
By the way, you English purists, I spell "balonga" phonetically - "baloney" - the way we who shop at Wal-Mart say it. Your condemnation will be wasted...
