Penny visits the dog park by Boogienights
Children's poem writing prompt entry

Penny Penelope Applebee
jumped out of bed quite excitedly.
She was taking her puppy to the new dog park,
where dogs could roam, roll around, and bark.
Kind of a playground for doggies, you see,
where with other dogs, they could play and run free.

Penny Penelope Applebee
packed up some dog treats for Emily.
They got in the car with mom and dad,
Emily would have fun, which made Penny glad.

Emily was the best, she learned to do tricks,
like sit up, roll over, lay down, and fetch sticks.
Soon the new dog park came into sight,
it was a warm day with the sun shining bright.
Other dogs and their families were at the park, too,
Penny opened the car door and her puppy jumped through.

Out to the fields, little Emily dashed,
into another puppy, she almost crashed.
Penny and her parents on a blanket sat down,
they enjoyed watching  the dogs run around.

Penny Penelope Applebee
was happily playing with Emily.
There were Retrievers, Shepards, Dachshunds, and Pugs,
Penny just wanted to give them all hugs.
But of course, Emily was the cutest of all,
leaping as Penny, threw her a red ball.

Penny Penelope Applebee
was getting tired, so was Emily.
Mom and dad said it was time to go
as the setting sun cast a beautiful glow.
On the way home they stopped, what a treat!
For burgers, fries, and ice cream, so sweet.

Penny Penelope Applebee
got ready for bed in her house by the sea.
She thought about all of the fun that she had
at the dog park with Emily, mom, and dad.
Penny climbed into bed and fell fast asleep,
with puppy, Emily curled up at her feet.
