January is the harshest, biting cold opens the year
Fifty below or lower, nearly freezes off your rear
I live in Minnesota, known as the deep Freeze state
So when I think of Springtime, I think about the wait
Valentine's Day comes, hearts bloom despite the cold
St Patty's Day brings nothing green ~ This season's getting old
I think of going somewhere south, but lose a long debate
When I come back, I'd still be cold and truly hate the wait
Easter's always lovely, but we have to stay inside
I'm dreaming about flowers, that don't look like they died
Mother's Day is here, and a nice day would be great
'
Instead we get more snow; my four letter word is, "wait"
There's nothing much to do, except eat until I pop
I'd like to plant my flowers, but not standing in the slop.
The end of May, the sun is out, it should be for this date
But colder still than normal, and I'm tired of the wait
We're into June and it is hot; it's Minnesota weather
Mother Nature has decided, to skip Spring all together
I've lived here all my life; not like we don't know our fate
Enjoy it then, 'cause in four months, I'll start another wait
