Infamy by Willie P. Smith
Remembering Pearl Harbor writing prompt entry

A sneaky attack, the seventh of December,
Nineteen forty-one, a day we'll remember.

Many died during the attack,
America wasn't prepared, but we fought back.

Ships still docked when they came,
A cowardly act, Japan was the name.

Some sailors still lay in that watery grave.
We'll never forget all they gave.

Four years of hell was the result,
War was declared due to the assault.

Japan finally realized, they couldn't survive,
They surrendered in September, nineteen forty-five.

America's power, America's might,
In God's Mercy, we won the fight.
