A Better Fit

Some search for a solution
Others want a revolution.
You do not fear being harmed
When the target is unarmed.
I wonder what you would do
If the target shot back at you.
Is this how the Civil War started?
We still mourn the departed.
We must stop the hateful rhetoric
For a stance that is a better fit.
We as brothers should love everyone
No matter what they have said or done.
We will answer, for our wrong
Not let It cause our swan song.

Author Notes
We are being torn apart by political arguments that only serve to divide the country into warring camps with little room for compromise. If my memory serves me correctly this was much the same situation before the Civil War erupted in this country.
