I didn't want to have Thanksgiving
Because my family lost their minds
I know we all get strange ideas
But this one beat all kinds
He wanted something different
"Ok, don't invite your side"
My girls both yelled "lasagna"
"Mac and cheese," my young son cried
Now I wonder about my children
They are too much like their dad
They don't want my pumpkin pie
They want root beer floats instead
He said he'd get a keg of beer
And no fancy glass of wine
We'll have an awesome fish fry
Defeated, I said "#%^#@% fine"
That morning you go see your mom
I know you're sad that she is sick
We'll take care of everything
Even the deer hearts on a stick
I Ieft early that cold morning
I had a great time with my mom
She sent me home to my family
My first Thanksgiving bomb
Extra cars were in the driveway
More came than what I knew
He might be having buddies
One more thing to make me blue
When I walked into the house
I smelled turkey and pumpkin pie
I asked him where the fish was
A big smile and a lil white lie
My siblings brought the meal
I didn't quite know what to say
My hubby planned this fiasco
To give me the best Thanksgiving Day
