One fine Friday my father and I
went walking in the park nearby.
While strolling and talking, at ease,
we wandered for hours
amidst fancy flowers
and fern fronds that swayed in the breeze.
A flicker caught Dad's focused eye
as a Fantail came fluttering by.
Freewheeling, it flew through the trees.
Would our feathered friend linger
on Dad's proffered fond finger?
Flamboyant, it flittered – a tease.
