Tis the evening for witches; (some on a broom)
others drive SUV's (it's much easier to zoom)!
Most are quite dreadful, and just a bit evil,
looking to cause havoc while shaping upheaval.
A few are quite ugly, all covered in warts;
others sit on bleachers and watch kids do sports.
The hags do their bidding on All Hallows Eve,
while the preppy ones daily endeavor to peeve!
Caldrons and black cats are found with the coven,
as book clubs and play dates obscure the sloven.
Crones wear black dresses and tall pointy hats;
the snobbery wear cashmere, and black Gucci flats.
I've digressed from the story I was directed to tell
about ghosties and goblins and a Halloween spell;
but the tale of the witches, (in all different sizes)
distracted me from speaking of trick or treat prizes.
Little kids dress in costumes and run door to door
filling their candy bags, with each knock, a bit more!
