Callie was found in my front yard
Running from a pack of dogs
She was just a baby
She climbed a tree like jumping a log
She was just a baby
Seven weeks old
She would be safe, maybe
If she was bold
Fourteen years passed in a flash
She was good through all that time
Cancer claimed her in a dash
Her death was so sublime
Illness claimed her so very quick
At least she didn't suffer long
The vet gave her meds though she was so sick
He hoped she would make it, but he was wrong
