Love will never grasp or take,
attends to matters, never fake.
It loosely holds, yet fortress strong,
it never harms or ever wrong,
We have so many names for love,
but only one is from above.
It waits for us, will not insist,
it lingers long for assent's kiss.
I never knew nor understood,
until I saw the Saviour's blood,
poured out for me a crimson flood
it's then I knew encompassed good.
A man will thrive when wisdom dawns
that sacrifice embraced, adorns.
This love embraced in perfect rhyme,
will not submit, enslaved by time.

Author Notes
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seekin, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. NIV
