When smoke began to fill my home, I yelled, "You must survive!" I fought the fumes and saved its life, my rare PlayStation 5. I grabbed my Hamer Scarab II, my eighties rock guitar. No time to break my drum set down, they'd burn right where they are. I could not let my precious axe be void of song or shred. I also grabbed as I ran out my vintage Marshall head. I reached the fridge in record time. I would not sacrifice the leftovers from last night's feast, the shrimp stir-fry with rice. The last I'd save, my Yamaha, if all the stakes were dire. I'd brave a giant wall of flames and push my bike through fire. And then I'd jump into my pool with one last massive splash. I'd watch my home go up in smoke and dreams all burn to ash.   Author Notes That's a picture of my favorite of five guitars. Had her nearly 40 years. Hamer Scarab II is the type of guitar it is. Axe is another name for a guitar. Shred is when you're playing a guitar solo really fast. Marshall head is the amplifier part of a Marshall stack (amp and speakers.)
