Exceptional like a nightmare, almost... NightHawk by Thomas Troso You Choose writing prompt entry

I've always had a fear of birds. So naturally, I resent the nighthawk who pecks at my temporal lobes.   I waste nights with my thoughts for hours and hours and  hours and hou––BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.   Look what I did. My brain is a beetle. When it finally feels the sleep-inducing relief of my pillow and the warming sensation of my blanket, the nighthawk knows to begin the hunt.    No lullaby, and no ridiculous amount of sheep counted could stop the hunt. Writing Prompt Please write a rhyming or free form poem on any subject. it needs to be three to five stanzas. If a rhyming poem, please rhyme at least every other line. Recognized
