As you look about tell me what you see,
Is it a place of learning or prison to you and me?
Within this constructed structure of six compacted sides
Are we here to glide along or lengthen out our stride?
Would you describe it being hollow, insignificant, and empty,
or could you say it's hallow when looked at reverently?
Think of former classmates who sat where you now sit
and wonder did they study or slept through class and quit?
At times, the learning arrives relatively easily,
while at other times leaves us squeamishly queasy.
Nonplussed, will we rise in knowledge or sink in ignorance;
do we add to life's brilliance or yield to belligerence?
Once upon a time, the choice was mine to make,
and I like to say successfully while realizing my mistakes.
I thrived heavily with my English, sufficiently well in Math,
but in the romance languages, they and I did clash.
Now in deep reflection, I wish I had done more
to concentrate on learning and less on what I scored.
Still, all's well that ends well, for my life's been lived;
why regret the path I chose when verily it's what I did?
Soon, it'll be time to select the path you elect to take;
so be judicious with the choice you decide to make.
Life's classroom has more than walls; it's anywhere you go;
Experience is a learning tool; thus, learn each day and grow.
