These walls still echo old refrains,
yet they still hold those same old stains.
And just like us the cracks appear,
like old rock songs ring in our ear.
I once had skin as smooth as silk,
with flesh as pure as full cream milk.
With shoulders broad, lines well defined,
some fine ideals, strong heart and mind.
I was a hare, ran like a cat,
with reflex fast, was lean not fat
Yes, I still dream, no longer young,
but I remember ballads sung.
Though I'm now old, my heart is not,
ideals have changed, I do not plot.
I've set my sights on love's pure heart,
God's grace to walk, each journey start.
Now, you may think that man relies,
on his own ways with wings to rise.
When God showed me what love was like,
that's when this fool began faith's hike.
I cannot speak for other men,
for what they think or grasp with ken.
But I have walked where others walk,
yet I don't want what others stalk.
Our thoughts are narrow, knowledge less,
and wisdom's just a flighty guess.
Yet wisdom once was crucified
and mankind's hope, just once, has died.
But death could never hold Him down,
He rose to life and wears love's crown.
When He arose He grasped my hand,
I live with God in Beulah Land.

Author Notes
Colossians 3:1-3
Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.â?¦
