I loved to amble along a shaded path
Encircling a serene, bucolic little lake
Joyful soft winds tickle lush tree leaves
Mom and baby ducks make rippling waves
But of late, an invasion has taken place
When I walk, no longer is there peaceful serenity
Joy spoiled by waggling tongues of cell phone users
Curse these inconsiderate, rambling nature abusers
Spewing malicious gossip and not caring who hears
I'd like to shout, Hey! I really don’t care
That your new diet isn’t working or
Your little granddaughter is teething or
Your neighbor's husband is cheating
Why can’t you people leave those darn
Cell phones in your cars and enjoy the
Peaceful wonders nature provides?
