My youngest son worshiped his older brother.
My Son by AnnieDawn
Rhyming Poem contest entry

My son has been a blessing
From the day that he was born
No matter what the time of day
Evening, noon, or morn

Big brother is a hero
To his smaller, younger brother
Who's always looking up to him
And substitutes no other

He has to keep his morals straight
He's faithful day to day
A tough job but with meaning
So his brother will not stray

He kept his nose clean through the years
Young brother grew up fine
Looking up to brother Bill
His hero toed the line

Author Notes
This was difficult to write. My youngest son looked up to my oldest son who did his best to set a good example for him as I ended up raising them as a single parent. He was always a hero to my youngest who copied everything his older brother did. Unfortunately, my youngest son was murdered at age 23. Wrong place at the wrong time.
