I will speak for those who are weak,
Left alone without choice, and no voice,
They cry, yes they cry, as they see others walk by.
Their days are so bleak, week follows week
Wanted at first, but the bubble soon burst
There is no hope, just no hope, and some cannot cope.
Their distress is so clear, and they just fear
No love yet again; there's no greater pain
Than no-one to care, no-one there
To share each day – to talk, laugh, play.
So I beg of you all, on your good side I call -
Don't choose a pet for your pleasure and yet
Have no love and no time – to me that's a crime!

Apologies if you find this "too preachy". Emotional abuse needs to be challenged.
As I looked for a suitable image, I wept to see the evident loneliness of so many dogs.
As I walk with my dog every day, I find it distressing to hear other dogs whimpering and crying, locked up for hours. Many of these are never taken for a walk, ever. My neighbour's dog is left alone, and cries constantly. So unfair and unjust. Such loneliness is heartbreaking.
