They said they would not worship it
The idol made of gold.
The three were thrown into the pit
As the Bible story's told.
But Lo...there stood beside them
A fourth one in the fire!
He was there to save them
And make the king a liar.
They did not burn, they were not singed
As they walked within the flame.
The fourth on whom their faith was hinged
Did we ever learn his name?
He's called the Angel of the Lord
He protected them, you see.
They all stood firm, of one accord
Their faith had set them free.
Christ Jesus is His name, you know
He's there when times are bad.
For Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
Our Lord was all they had.
He'll be there too for you and me
When we hit a patch that's rough
If we have the faith of the ancient three
Jesus Christ will be enough.
