I must not fear death or the doom it brings,
To some this might seem foolish
And such an atypical thing,
Instead I'll applaud life, and
The advent of the Spring,
Beholding the cardinal on the fence,
After the downpour of the rain,
The gift of my heart beating,
And mental clarity of my brain.
I must not fear death or the doom it brings,
Some ask me why I say this
Since onto life one cannot cling,
But I'll arise with hope, and
Walk daily in my faith,
Possessing a deep gratitude for life,
For more than that which I can see,
May my eyes be awakened,
To spiritual reality.

Of course there're those who'll doubt me
That don't know I am worshiping,
A Creator with a plan,
Whose praises I do sing,
Embracing his Word and all that He's done,
No greater grand design in place,
By the will of my Father,
Death's sting shall be defeated by grace.
