I have a couple sons in-law,
They're so alike, Y'know?
Except that Chris is taller,
By about a foot or so!
They come from awesome families,
That makes them much alike.
But Joe has many siblings,
And Chris has brother Mike.
Actually they're so similar,
Could very well be brothers.
They are a step above the rest,
And beat out all the others.
Both of them, the same year,
Took our daughters for their brides
But one eloped; All by themselves,
The other; we were at their sides
Then suddenly came grandkids.
Each couple had a girl and boy,
So Joe and Chris got identical points,
For their part in my greatest Joy.
When our family has a party,
A fellowship of many tastes.
Steak for Chris and fish for Joe,
And nothing goes to waste.
And when these guys have had a few,
No one ever wears a frown.
Chris will get more quiet,
But Joe becomes a clown.
Our time together goes too fast.
It's something I just dread.
But Chris and family stay awhile,
And Joe's goes home to bed.
You may see their difference's,
But I took a mother in-law's oath.
To treat these two like my own sons,
And identically love them both!
