The Angel Dance by Boogienights
Abecedarian poem writing prompt entry

Angels up in heaven were very excited
Because they were planning an angel dance.
Clouds made of silver would serve as the dance floor,
Delighted they were to be given the chance.
Excitedly washing their wings and their gowns,
For everyone wanted to look their best.
Gossamer wings weren't easy to clean,
However, it was done and they all got dressed.
Iridescent, their polished halos shone bright,
Jewels of every color adorned tiny shoes.
Kaleidoscope lights, along with stars,
Lit up the hall, quite sure to amuse.
Moonlight streamed in as the dance began,
Never has any other dance looked so grand.
Over the silver cloud dance floor, they twirled
Perfectly to music from the angel dance band.
Quickly time passed, soon it came time to eat,
Rows of treats lined up, angel food cake,
Starlight juice in their best china cups,
They drank it with care, lest the china should break.
Underneath a canopy of indigo blue
Various lively dances took place,
Where the angels could show off their skills,
Xylophone, harp music filled up the space.
Yes, all the angels had such a good time.... then
Zipped off to bed and their dreams were so fine.
