When greed’s bad avarice holds sway, we read the news with sad dismay. Of thieves and fraudsters there’s a glut — those hardened hearts kept tightly shut. We dream of how our lives could be, when lived in peace, our hopes set free. But tyrants love to preen and strut — those hardened hearts kept tightly shut. It’s harsh when lives are lived in fear while clinging to what we hold dear.
