Sunlight streaks through roiling clouds
Rainbow peeking from misty shrouds
Colors flowing in a heavenly feast
Then more rumbles from Southeast
Winds rush past as dark does build
Tree branches whip, can’t be still
Leaves like in a Dervish trance
Whirl to earth in frantic dance
Watch sheets of rain from our front porch
Roars of Thor’s thunder in loud report
Lightning scratches the boiling sky
Frightened now, I begin to shake and cry
Dad watching comes outside
Understanding in fatherly eyes
“Don’t be afraid,” he says consoling
“It’s the angels in heaven bowling.”
