I am currently awake and wondering why?
When all I want to do is die.
I live my life and done it well.
I am now trapped within a spell!
My heart is broken, my heart is pierced, my heart is swollen, as well.
Dear Lord God above is this what it feels like to be in Hell?
...
I'm currently awake and wondering why?
When all I want to do is die.
God knows I've already tried.
But my heart still beats?
I thought it stopped a long time ago on "Lonely Street?"
So I contemplate my fate perhaps I have a date?
Yes, a date with Death?
I'm ready take away my last breath!
...
I'm currently awake and wondering why?
When all I want to do is now die!
So I write these words because I'm caught in the spell.
Circular motion down in the Well!
And as I'm spinning around and round?
All those memories that I found.
Seems as if they are taunting me?
Making me cry.
Solemn tear-drops in an Ocean of Why?
...
I'm currently awake and wondering why?
But I finally realized that just because we want to die.
That doesn't mean it's the way it's supposed to be.
Even when Sadness takes Over *Me.

Note: A parent's worst nightmare is the loss of a child.
And, after the death of my son Jason first and then followed shortly by my wife Carolyn.
Yes, I would become trapped, as if in a "World of Grief"
There was little relief as I began to realize that this was a normal process.
And, for two and a half years?
I would not leave but to go on my front deck.
Only at night and watch the stars above and wonder why?
Why I feel this way and why I cannot die?
