Silver Lining writing prompt entry

There was a Cold War
in the 20th Century,
there were talks of
Russians starting a
fight against the USA.

But, there was no
real-life war,
it made us look forward,
we were distracted enjoying
entertainment,
all of us went on with our lives,
never worried and never gave
up hope.

Spent the last days happy
of our lives cherished our moments,
thought of how beautiful Earth is.
Even though it would have been
a real war, we didn't panic.

There was the best of us
in every one of us.

Write a poem of any type about something ugly (war, hate, cruelty) - but find the beauty (silver lining) in it.
