Prestigious, she was surely not
and yet she was impressive.
Not gloomy, sad or overwrought.
She never was defensive.
Privileged, no, she was surely not
and yet she was advantaged.
She lived her own sweet Camelot --
I don't know how she managed.
Prominent, she was surely not
and yet she was essential.
With insight, vision, and forethought --
she was unique and special.
Perceptive, prudent and precise
were attributes she mastered.
But even if you ask me twice
some questions can't be answered.
I don't know why she was unkind
to neighbor, son, or sister.
My reasons may be misaligned --
I only know -- I'll miss her.

Author Notes
My Aunt Edna recently passed away. No one liked her very much, and their reasons were legion. She definitely did not play well with others and yet, for my whole life, she always had time, a kind word and a smile for me. Her husband provided well for the family, but he was liked even less. I suspect that there is more to my aunt's story than we will ever know. While I may be the only one, I do know that I will miss her.
