In sun-drenched Africa tourists wanting to shoot a rifle
rather than taking a photo, are on the rise.
Trigger happy Westerners will pay a hefty fee
just to go on a safari hunting spree.
There are those that seek the thrill before the kill,
they want the pursuit before they shoot.
Others on the cheap sit hidden in verdant shelters
patiently waiting for their target while they swelter.
Wildlife, big and small, come to the water source to find restore.
And hunters can easily make a score.
Each ANIMAL has a price tag on its head,
and by the end of the day, several will be dead.
Not every shot is a bull's eye hit;
sometimes it takes hours before
the victim is found
and hunters can then call it quits.
In the meantime, the prey, scared
and in pain has found a hideout
where often it faces a HORROR death, bleeding out.
To make a long story SHORT,
taking a life should never be considered sport
and certainly, those wanting to sport a trophy I do not support.
