Belonging by Lana Marie
    Rondel Poetry Contest Winner

Belonging to a family of his own.
Taken from home when he was only three.
Sitting beneath the willow tree.
This preteen is almost grown.

Real love to him was never shown.
His heart cried out "please pick me!"
Belonging to a family of his own.
Taken from home when he was only three.

A mom and dad he had never known
went through a lot to break him free.
Adopted him into their
fam-i-ly.
No longer feeling all alone.
Belonging to a family of his own.

Author Notes
I can not imagine never being adopted. My mom was left at a friends house by her mother, a year later sent into an orphanage, went into foster care and was never adopted because she thought her mom was coming back.
