Kyrielle sonnet
Jars by royowen

How many jars could tear-drops fill?
As strong drink flows from yon dark still.
I've wondered how desire will walk,
yet in the night the wolf doth stalk,

When was my brush with love's first flush,
'twas with my mother's tender touch.
God's messengers, the wind will talk,
yet in the night the wolf doth stalk.

I know not how, but I believe,
and I enjoy the fool's reprieve.
The hunter hovers like a hawk*,
yet in the night the wolf doth stalk

How many jars could tear-drops fill,
yet in the night the wolf doth stalk.
