We were holding hands,
When she passed away.
I lost the best part
Of my heart that day.
She looked at me with
Tired, hazel eyes.
She said, "Don't be sad.
True love never dies.
We'll be together again,
In God's house above.
So, When I'm gone,
Please don't forsake our love.
A tear slowly rolled
Down her sweet cheek.
I wiped it away,
But I couldn't speak.
She closed her eyes
One last time,
And I thanked God
He made her mine.
