Christmas advent by royowen

Christmas advent

Into the night my mama worked,
her weathered hands had never shirked.
No thought of rest could cool the coal
that burnt so deep within her soul.

She had to finish, had to leave
in depth she grieved for Christ's reprieve
her gratitude indeed had feet
the Christ-child's birth made joy complete.

A child must learn of God's intent,
why Jesus Christ to us was sent.
Yet nothing can deplete love's way,
God's Lamb was born on Christmas Day

We can't compare this matchless act,
this gift of grace in nothing lacked.
He wore frail flesh just like a coat,
and for our sin His life was smote.

Author Notes
My mother painstakingly knitted a complete nativity scene and gave it to her beloved granddaughter in Rebecca, my elder child. In her words she said Rebecca would cherish it. That was many years ago, mum passed away 10 years ago but entrusted this treasure to her when Bec was very young.
Rebecca, now a wife and mother, honour my mums memory by lovingly and tenderly bringing it out, places it in a place of honour for the Christmas season, and then stores it away til the next year?¢??s advent.

Isaiah7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself wll give you a sign, behold, the virgin shall conceive a Son. and shall call His name Immanuel. NKJV
