Unexpected Kiss by HarryT 100 Word Dash writing prompt entry |
The girls decorated the basement with sugar cubes wrapped in plastic for Mary Beth’s sixteenth birthday. Susie, my girlfriend, was off helping with final party preparations. The phonograph was playing, “Put Your Head on My Shoulder.” A pretty girl I had not seen sat on a couch. I asked her to dance. She said she was Mary Beth’s cousin from the Northside. I took her hand, she moved in close, her breasts pressing my chest, our cheeks touching, we gently swayed, she turned and kissed me. Susie came over, tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Better not happen again.”
