LOUDER Please! by Elizabeth Emerald Artwork by Linda Bickston at FanArtReview.com |
The other day, I was reminiscing with my friend Chuck about my favorite scene from my favorite Woody Allen movie, Bananas. Woody is in a small shop, perusing the magazine rack, as customers are milling about. On the pretext of searching for edifying publications, such as Newsweek, Time, Commentary ... Woody surreptitiously grabs a porn mag, as per his true purpose. He approaches the register with his armful. The clerk rings the magazines up one by one, until he gets to the naughty one. He calls to the fellow in the back: JOE--HOW MUCH FOR "ORGASM" MAGAZINE? Chuck offered up a true story, from back in the era of mega-sized movie stores. He was with his friend John. There were about fifteen parents with children in tow, all in search of animated movies du jour. John perused the binder listing films on offer. After homing in on his selection, he approached the clerk. After rummaging in the stock room, the clerk returned and called out: SORRY SIR, "BABES IN BONDAGE" IS CHECKED OUT.
