I was fairly well known in the community. I've had numerous successes, not to mention my vast array of generous contributions. Then came the day my reputation was slandered. Another high-ranking, esteemed colleague within the society had the audacity to drag my honored name through the mud. He dared to point out my imperfections with malice, offering no valid reasoning behind such accusations. The damage was irreversible. Negotiations on my part were rendered moot. He stood firm in his condemnations. I pondered many hours upon the dilemma at hand and came to the only one possible conclusion...revenge. I, too, can belittle one's worth. I deviously planned for days, watching his every move. The moment had to be precise, when he was once more at his peak of recognition. Then the day presented itself, when the masses again witnessed him as exceptional. It was that very moment I knew I had to strike. I wish I could have seen his face for surely his dignity savagely withered when I so elegantly came back with my wee, two-star revenge review.   Writing Prompt Write a flash fiction tale of REVENGE.
