When I win first place,
it is glorifying and impressive.
Competing in contests gives
me a boost of confidence.
If I win any of the top three slots,
I feel like I'm competitive,
I have the instincts of how it is to have won.
I think of it as to prove myself
worthy enough to be the victor.
It is challenging for my mind,
it helps me get involved.
There is no better way
than to be competitive.
Even if I don't win,
at least I've tried,
and it is good I have
entered in writing contests.
I feel like a winner.
It is a good feeling for me
to focus on competition.
I feel that competition
raises the stakes,
on who gets to win.
I think of it as a
natural winning strategy.
Being competitive
for me is normal and fun.
You get many chances
at winning at 1%, or maybe more,
it gives me self-confidence.

Free verse is a form of poetry that does not necessarily follow to any specific meter patterns, rhyme, or any other pattern. Free verse, despite its freedom, often still has some elements of form. Most free verse does observe a convention of lines and structure. No rhyming patterns. |

I love being competitive and it gives me an optimistic tremendous feeling. I feel great when I compete in contest and am glad to feel competitive. Competition is the best thing that has ever happened for me.
