The Camera Doesn't Lie ... by Elizabeth Emerald Artwork by MoonWillow at FanArtReview.com |
My son Dan is getting married on October 9th. I'll be seeing family I haven't seen since my daughter's graduation party in 2015. I wince to recall the photographic fiasco engendered by my hair being a dead-on match to the red balloon I was standing beside. Though vivid, my hair was a shade short of clownish. The photo looked true to color in the viewer; the culprit was the printer at CVS. My hair is now "platinum pink," as resulting from the remnants of red-tinted rinse on my now-natural near-white. I've been wondering how the color would be rendered by the printer at CVS; I do not relish a repeat of the ill-fated photo-op. To preempt an unpleasant surprise, I had Chuck take pictures of me this afternoon. Wearing a Mondrian-inspired print of variously colored "blocks," I posed next to my red maple tree. The coral sections of the dress came out fuchsia. The pale aqua was deep turquoise. Ironically, the vivid maple leaves were an unassuming eggplant. My hair was lavender. Let us hope there will be a professional at the wedding who is savvy with color filters and photo shopping.
