Puppies and kitties, old dogs and cats, too.
If you’re down with a frown, they’re what you do!
Most unconditional is the love animals give
Feeling them soak up love - makes me love to live!
Another way I know to feel better yourself
Is to get out, visit somebody, don’t sit alone on the shelf.
Go get some ice cream to take to a friend
Take some flowers and laughter to those who’re shut in.
I don’t recommend TV ‘less the show is quite old
From back when TV was happy and laughter was gold.
Nor do I like movies to improve a sad mood;
Most now are violent, or trashy or boring or rude.
Talking by phone is a good way to reach out,
But depends on who and what they’re talking about.
Some people don’t listen or laugh, they just whine –
Don’t dial those downers – leave them all behind.
How ‘bout that neighbor at the back fence stewin’?
Go there and wave, “Hi, neighbor, how are you doin’?”
Life can get less happy than what we once knew,
But, you can still find happy. That’s up to you!
