Ripe red tomatoes hang heavy on August vines ready to be canned Old Kerr Jars left empty I long for my Mother's voice Recognized Author Notes I love writing tanka, and I do like that every line does not have to have the exact syllable count. FYI, Kerr Jars are the old canning jars of my Mother's generation.
