Eyes To See by Lana Marie
Five Senses writing prompt entry

I would never want to lose my sight because of the joy I get seeing my family's faces. Their smiles, the look of sadness or excitement.

With my eyes I can see the beauty all around me and I can also see emotions that tug at my heart.

My eyes have seen so many beautiful things that I can't imagine my life without this ability.

I would not have seen the look of love on my husband's face as I walked down the aisle before we said " I do".

I would not have been able to see the miracle of my newborn children.

I would not have been able to experience all those times my kids yelled out "watch me mom".

The buzzer beater basketball games that my daughter contributed with her three point shots would not have had the same impact on me had I not been able to see it with my own eyes.

I wouldn't have seen the tears streaming down my other daughter's eyes at the news of her father's death.

There's so many experiences that my eyes have given me and so many more to come.

If I had to give up one of my five senses, I would gladly give up the sense of smell.

I would no longer have to smell my husband's bad breath when he wakes up in the morning, or the scent that comes from the morning poo.

I wouldn't make him get up and brush his teeth before he wanted to give me a good morning kiss.

I would be able to help change my grandkids diapers without gagging.

I would no longer get headaches from the smell of cologne, perfumes, and candles.

Using cleaners would not bother me and my house would probably be a lot cleaner.

Author Notes
I am thankful that all of my senses work well. My heart goes out to those that are not able to function in all of their senses.
