Somedays I end up feeling so sad and blue,
Overthinking everything that I do.
Mired in self pity and cursing my life,
Embroiled in conflict and family strife.
Terrified that time in my life has been wasted,
Hurt that success is what I haven't tasted.
Innocent days of my youth didn't last,
Now my days of aging, they fly by too fast,
Going so quick that it leaves my aghast.
When I'm at my lowest, a sweet gentle voice
Over the cell phone makes my heart rejoice.
Never alone, for my girls are all near,
Doubts, fear, and pain from my heart disappear.
Every kind gesture, the things that they do,
Remind me they're always there for me, it's true.
Full is my life, it comes to me now,
Understanding that love makes each minute worthwhile.
Learning something wonderful comes in a daughter's sweet smile.
