The blue jay perched high in the tree,
as soft winds stirred the leaves.
His mate soon joined
with lunch purloined,
as soft winds stirred the leaves.
I watched the squir’ls, those darling thieves,
and they took all the seeds
from feeders hung,
to feed their young,
and they took all the seeds.
A troop of ants marched through the weeds
to seize a morsel dropped.
They ran to see
and all broke free
to seize a morsel dropped.
Now, that’s the way I spent my day,
in Nature’s tiny worlds.
Caught in my sights
were such delights
in Nature’s tiny worlds.

Author Notes
Refrain: L2 is repeated as L5 in each stanza
The Roundabout is a four stanza poem, with each stanza consisting of 5 lines. The poem is written in iambic and the lines have 4 feet, 3 feet, 2 feet, 2 feet and 3 feet respectively. The rhyme scheme is aBccB/bCddC/cDaaD/dAbbA.
As the example poem shows, the "A" rhymes are different from the "a" rhymes. I don't know why they simply didn't give them a different letter.
