I remember yesterday
my heart beat strong as steel.
A wanderlust I couldn't truss,
life offered such appeal.
Sunny days and backroads
led to swimming holes.
Summer fairs and folks found there
soothed my restless soul.
I miss my weathered cabin
nestled in Vermont.
Now I find, county lines
mocking me they taunt.
