What happened to spring
There's snow everywhere
I speak to my friends
They really don't care
They live in the South
They're out in the sun
I'm up here in the North
I'm not having fun
There's snow on the branches
There's snow on the ground
I look to the skies
Where snow clouds abound
Will spring ever come
Will I ever be warm
While they're outside playing
I'm stuck in the dorm
The birds are all shivering
Outside with their down
I'm under a quilt
I feel like a clown
One day we'll see springtime
The trees will be green
And I'll be all smiles
The biggest you've seen
By then friends will be roasting
They'll be awfully hot
While they complain of the heat
I'll enjoy my cool lot
I know spring is coming
But it's sure taking it's time
Once it's arrived though
It will be surely sublime

Author Notes
Winters in Alaska seem to last forever sometimes. My friends in the lower 48 have flowers blooming while the lakes here are covered with ice fishing shacks. When spring comes, it will happen all of a sudden, but in the meantime, I'm tired of waiting.
