spring's sweet aroma permeates Delaware State --      first peach blossoms   Recognized Author Notes I have written my haiku in 5-7-4 syllable count and have used the Japanese Seasons (Kigo) Almanac as inspiration: Insects awaken: March 11th-15th - first peach blossoms. The Peach blossom was adopted as Delaware's floral emblem by an act of the legislature on March 9, 1895. In 1953, the Peach Blossom was named as the official state flower. Peach blossoms appear before the leaves and have a soft, delicate texture with a sweet aroma that is reminiscent of honey and almond. Image courtesy of Google
