The FBI Owes Us an Apology by nomi338

The FBI should apologize,
Their historical picture, offends the eyes.
They harassed Billie Holiday over a song she did not write.
Bugged Dr. King, hoping to paint him in a different light.
Set up Malcolm X, to be at war with the Nation.
Promoted lies about him of their own creation.
Assassinated Black Panthers, Fred Hampton, and Mark Clark.
Snuck in like cowards and shot them in the dark.
Why did the director hate these people so much?
Did he see them as threats or was he just out of touch?
Could there have been an even darker reason,
Was J. Edgar guilty of committing racial treason?
Self-hatred they say is the strongest hate of all,
Could a secret about his race, threaten his downfall?
Mississippi Burning sparked a process of learning.
Though secrets were revealed, racial scars remain unhealed.
After what has been done, the battle with racism is not won
As far as I can see, the FBI's history demands an apology.

Author Notes
In view of disclosures from recent movies, "The United State VS Billie Holiday", "Judas and the Black Messiah", "One Night In Miami", and others. It appears that the FBI was at war with blacks who were advocating for better treatment here in America. I am not angry, this is not an angry poem, it is just an observation of things that seem wrong for an official arm of the government that is supposed to act in good faith on behalf of all its citizens.
