The hatches I did batten,
And stayed all winter in the cabin,
Three long months inside,
I’m now ready to ride,
It’s like erupting from a cage,
When the seasons change,
My favorite season is spring,
Happy feelings it does bring,
Spring is here you can really tell,
There’s a fresh new smell,
A happy tune I’m belting,
Because the snow’s melting.
I like making this statement,
I can now see the pavement,
The world has a new sheen,
Everything is turning green,
The trees are beginning to bud,
April Showers make mud,
I won’t know how to act,
That is a natural fact,
Going outside is a treat,
And it being warmer is sweet,
Some may find it strange,
If seasons could rearrange,
‘Cuz winter I hate,
It would meet a fate,
The Earth will transform,
As temperatures warm.

Author Notes
I was originally going to enter a Use these words contest, but missed the deadline. I know meters are probably off but I'm not a poet. Enjoy, be kind.
