In the Rough by June Sargent
Write a Kyrielle writing prompt entry

When first we met he seemed unsure,
but I could sense his heart was pure.
It turned out he was more than fluff.
He was a diamond in the rough.

Beneath the roughness I could see
a hint of what a man should be -
an honest man who'd take no guff.
He was a diamond in the rough.

This man would stand by me always
with loyalty for all our days.
Together - through good times and tough -
he was a diamond in the rough.

When he proposed - without fanfare -
to build a life that we could share,
I knew our love was strong enough.
He was a diamond in the rough.

Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza. Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas. Any type of rhyme scheme can be used. More information and an example.
