Waiting for the time to come
To feed my family
Now is my down time
Where I can feel bad for me
My back is bad
My legs don't work
Nearly like they should
The work I do around this place
I do from a chair
If I try to stand too long
I won't be standing there
But no matter what my body
Does to give me grief
I know my mind is sharp
And I can still earn my keep
I have faith in God
I speak to Him every day
I thank Him for every victory
I gain along the way
But as I roll myself along
To make our meager feast
I know that we will go to bed
Full and satisfied
Although I cook this from a chair
I look around and see
That right here, at this moment
I have faith in me

Author Notes
My physical health has degenerated rapidly over the last couple of years. I have written several poems about my faith in God, but I know that it is He who gives me the strength to do what I need to do and the belief in myself to get things done.
