She flashed a smile at all the guys, her perfume filled the air,
as women whispered angrily, their husbands turned to stare.
Without integrity or shame, this temptress understood,
that when she flirted with their men, it was because she could.
One day the wives decided that revenge would be so sweet.
The hate they shared demanded for a plan that would defeat
the femme fatale at her own game, and with it end for good,
her wicked ways and then perhaps she’d act the way she should.
One of the ladies told her friends that she knew what to do,
she’d heard about a kindly witch that would make them a brew
to change the ways of someone who just wasn’t nice to know,
a flower was the cost she charged, that one of them should grow.
And so it was the wives all went and bought some flower seeds;
they nurtured them and watched them grow with hope they’d fill their needs.
A water pipe was placed beside each tiny seed that grew,
and soon the flowers blossomed, and they hoped that one would do.
The wives all went to see the witch, each took their precious bloom,
the witch was so delighted that she took them in the room
where she made up the potion and she quickly made the brew,
and with her final words she said, "This is what you must do."
They listened to the kind old witch as she looked up and said,
‘You must give this to her before she goes up to her bed.’
The wives did what they had to do, they switched her cup of tea,
then up to bed, they watched her go, all smiling hopefully.
The next day when she met the wives, she gave a woeful cry,
"Forgive me please," she begged them; when they smiled she gave a sigh.
Now all the wives are happy that their men are not bewitched--
and they made sure they’d stay that way and got the lady hitched!
