A pretty parcel I will wrap –
I’ve bought this gift for you.
But now I see I’m in the crap,
wishing my task was through.
How can I hold the edges down?
I need three hands, not two.
This makes me grumpy, with a frown;
I don’t know what to do.
Your present is an odd-shaped size –
if only it were square!
I gather up my tape and ties,
try not to tear my hair.
With ribbon bow I’ve won my quest,
but then the paper tore.
With twists and turns I tried my best;
forgive me – I just swore.
Gorilla tape it’s up to you –
you are my only hope.
You must hold fast, you must stick true,
or should I use some rope?
This challenge it is looking grim;
I’m getting in a huff.
I fold the paper, cut and trim –
but I don’t have enough!
I want it to look good for you,
so I will buy some more.
And now I know just what to do –
I saw it at the store.
I bought a diff’rent gift for you,
one that is cute and small.
It’s looking really pretty, too –
’twas gift-wrapped at the Mall!
